The Saskatoon Suzuki String Program Presents
Summer String Experience...
Summer and music go great together! With programs for both
beginners and developing students, the Summer String Experience offers
everyone the opportunity to learn and refine skills on the violin, viola
or 'cello, with others who are doing the same. It's an excellent way to
be introduced to the instrument for the first time, or for those who
already play to find new inspiration from our highly qualified faculty.
Although based on a Suzuki blueprint, students without a Suzuki
background have a great experience too!
Beginner Program (morning)
For children age 3 and up with no prior lessons in violin or 'cello.
Group classes involve a basic introduction to the instrument, and preliminary
skills for playing. Movement and Drama classes also add to the fun! This
program is highly recommended for those interested in enrolling their
children in Suzuki string lessons in the fall.
Intermediate Program (morning)
For those with some experience in violin, viola or 'cello, but not yet
ready to play in orchestra. This program includes technique, repertoire
and Movement and Drama classes.
Advanced Program (Orchestra)
(full day)
For those who have played or are ready to play in an orchestra. This
program includes technique, repertoire and percussion classes in addition
to chamber music or sectional rehearsals and participation in our Junior
or Senior Orchestra. Participants must have experience reading music.
Intensive String Quartet Program (full
day)
For advanced teens. This program focuses students' week on the
preparation of one or more pieces of string quartet repertoire. An elite
chamber orchestra comprised of the participants of this program completes
the experience.
Activities also include:
- Crafts
- Friday evening Final concert
